Aruna Sahwahita (ARUS) is one of the activities organized by the Department of Social Affairs in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), the Dies Natalis Committee of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, the Indonesian Health Students Network (JMKI), and the Muslim Students Association of Pharmacy (KMMF). Aruna Sahwahita was held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. The event included a blood donation activity in accordance with the regulations issued by PMI. Additionally, we shared information about blood donation on the Instagram account @aruna.sahwahita, presented in the form of quizzes, bingo, and reels to attract the interest of young people in participating in blood donation activities.
Research and Comunity Services
The Cultivation of Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) is one of the activities organized by the Department of Social Affairs, where students from the Faculty of Pharmacy volunteer to cultivate TOGA in partner villages. This activity took place on August 27, 2023, in Kaliwanglu Kulon Village, Pakem, Sleman. The event included a workshop on planting and utilizing TOGA, the creation of TOGA booklets containing information on the benefits and usage of the plants, planting TOGA that can grow on available land, and teaching residents in the partner village about what TOGA is and how to care for these plants so they can at least be used for daily needs at home.
Pharmacy Youth Act (PYA) is one of the activities organized by the Department of Social Affairs of BEM KM Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, aimed at providing educational support to children in the partner village, Kaliwanglu Kulon, Pakem, Sleman. The PYA activities are carried out over the course of one BEM administration period, with teaching sessions held every two weeks. Students involved in PYA will carry out their duties according to the established organizational structure within PYA itself. The PYA organization consists of a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Creative Curriculum Division, Administration, Media & Networking, and Logistics-Consumption. In addition to fulfilling their roles within their respective divisions, all PYA members actively volunteer to teach the children in the partner village. Furthermore, we also share health-related information on our Instagram account @pya.ugm.
