These issues are very substantial and important for better pharmacy practice, especially in Indonesia.
Prof. Lacy persuade all of pharmacists to take notice on principal problem they experienced in. The problem is lack capability of pharmacists to work in team. “We must realise to collaborate instead of work in small groups. Conflict makes problem, collaborate make better outcome”, he said. The collaboration between physicians, pharmacists and nurses should be initiated by determining and formulating their common goals together. They must work in team and give the best for patients satisfactions and their quality of lives. Furthermore, he asked to break up the hierarchy profession problem in health care team. United States had released a collaborative agreements/contract between physicians with nurses and pharmacists. Thus, there is no superiority of physicians to nurses and other practicioners, they can work in solid team.
Communication in term of sharing pharmacist knowledges, is a key point to build good collaboration. Everyone in team should well and effectively talk to others and discuss their problems. He invoked pharmacist as the specialist in drug therapy to show up themselves and offer their viewpoint to other health practicioners about therapy management. They would not be recognized as the urge health care provider unless gain their added values in team. In the end, he emphasized,”Researcher, the newest star of pharmacists, is potentially promote you to get trust and acknowledgment from patients and health care providers. You have pharmacology, pharmacogenomics and pharmacotherapy which they don’t have. Make they believe that you care about patient goodness.” (Fajar Aji/Farmasi UGM)
